BOTOX® Cosmetic
As the most popular cosmetic treatment in the world, BOTOX Cosmetic’s benefits are widely known. Getting results that look natural, though, requires injectors with the expertise and knowledge of facial anatomy to make precise injections that address your specific concerns. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Rosenthal performs BOTOX injections at our Boynton Beach, Florida, practice, serving West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Wellington, Boca Raton, and surrounding areas.
How Does BOTOX Work?
BOTOX, along with similar treatments like Dysport® and XEOMIN®, all belong to a category of drugs called neuromodulators. They are all approved by the FDA and work by temporarily immobilizing the muscles used when you change facial expressions. This minimizes the appearance of these “expression lines,” also called dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, vertical worry lines between the eyes, and forehead wrinkles.
What Happens During a Treatment?
After discussing your specific concerns, the doctor applies a topical anesthetic that numbs the treatment area, so you’ll remain comfortable during the injections. Each injection lasts only a second or two and feels like a small pinch. The treatment itself typically takes less than 30 minutes and requires no downtime. The number of injections depends on the treatment area or areas and how much BOTOX, Dysport, or XEOMIN is needed to produce the desired results.
